Sean Reilly

The Manhattanville College Department of Athletics and Recreation and Director of Athletics Julene Caulfield have announced the hiring of Sean Reilly as head coach of the Manhattanville College men's soccer team.

Reilly becomes the 16th head coach in program history, bringing a wealth of coaching experience at the collegiate and playing levels to Manhattanville. Most recently, Reilly served as the assistant coach in Division I at Manhattan College.

"I would like to thank Julene Caulfield and many in the athletic department for being so generous with their time and support throughout this process and for offering me this exciting opportunity," Reilly said. "It was immediately clear to me that Manhattanville has everything it takes to compete at the highest level of college athletics; a beautiful campus, an outstanding academic reputation, top-class facilities and incredible support from our athletic administration. I am honored to lead this program, and can't wait to build relationships with our student-athletes to help them compete for championships on the field and achieve excellence in the classroom."

In his five seasons on the Jaspers' sideline, Reilly was involved in all aspects of the program. During his time at Manhattan, the program qualified for the playoffs four out of the five years he was with the team, including earning their highest-ever seeding this past year. His sport performance and training program help develop 10 All-MAAC selections and the 2022 Defensive Player of the Year, Nassim Akki.

Reilly began his collegiate soccer career at Bryant University before transferring to St. Thomas Aquinas College. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas with a Bachelor's degree in sports management. After his time in college, Reilly pursued professional soccer in Ireland, suiting up for Finn Harps and Institute FC. Following his stint in Ireland, he played for the Rochester Rhinos in the USL Championship. He still currently plays at the highest levels of US Amateur Soccer, most recently winning a National Championship with Lansdowne Bhoys in 2021.

Reilly has been heavily involved in soccer in the high school, club, collegiate and professional ranks. He currently is the Technical Director at Morris Elite located in Madison, New Jersey and involved with recruitment and coaching for their USL 2 side. Coach Reilly lives in Mahwah, New Jersey with his wife Kathleen and son Ciarán.
